NYM Spring High School Retreat: April 4-6 at Scattergood Friends School

The NYM High School Spring Retreat will be in combination with the retreat planned at Scattergood Friends School (https://scattergood.org/) on April 4-6th.  Below you will find the information and registration for this retreat.  We are so glad that we have for several years now had such a close affiliation and created many opportunities together.  This will be our next joint adventure.

Scattergood is hosting a free weekend-long retreat for youth currently in grades 8-12. In addition to workshops centered around resistance and resilience, attendees will participate in service projects at Public Space One, have plenty of time for games, activities and more. Quaker affiliation is not required—all are welcome to participate in this event and all meals and housing are provided.

There are a limited number of guest rooms for parents/drivers to use for the weekend and unlimited tenting. Guests can join the community for meals, and they can enjoy the prairie and farm on campus.  If rideshares would be helpful, please let us know asap so that we may help to coordinate this.

About the Retreat:

Staying Whole: Resistance through Resilience, Resilience through Resistance

How do we take care of ourselves when our government is hostile to us and the people we love? How do we face scary realities without becoming immobilized by fear? How do we find joy, peace, and connection in dark times? Aydin Yildiz and August Kalinosky will invite students to explore these questions together, reflect on their inner and community resources, and share strategies for staying whole and keeping our dreams alive when the world feels hostile, overwhelming, and scary.

Learn more & register by March 28th.  Any questions?  Direct them to: Sadie Kirschenman at skirschenman@scattergood.org.
